If, usually, the last week of August is associated with the sad concept of going back to work, what is a rainy last week of August associated with, then?
I really can’t decide if it’s better to get back to the office with bad or good weather, and do you know why? Because Mernet never goes on vacation!
That’s true, we have been working all summer to bring you new exciting projects and to keep up with our international academic relationships, to include fresh blood in our volunteers ranks.
And with all the new ideas we have, we are definitely going to need all the help we can find: radio project, community surveys, public events, publishing, year of bio-diversity... calling it a “handful” really is a euphemism.
So where to start from to bring you up to speed?
I guess it is best to mention our new members first: G. from (and for) Germany, C. from France and L. from Italy are what we were waiting for to implement our law, arts and social sciences “departments”.
For what concern our projects, as you might have heard, the CNS (Community Needs Survey) template is online and a press release is on its way for the end of September with the first evaluation from the beta version and Radio Mernet will be brought back up from the “sleeping status” next week (as I said, we do not go on vacation but many of our external consultants do).
That’s for the immediate future, as in September/October (first week): you have to keep in mind that at Mernet we don’t just throw parties (like somebody in CB thought) but we also do private and public counselling, helping the Mediterranean community in B&H in any way we can.
We are here to improve our service and improve our community, with your precious help we can do both and still have time to throw our famous “dancing feast”!
Stay tuned for more Mediterranean news!
All the best
Tom
